Film – Träumerei
„Träumerei“ is the oldest known Schumann film, premiered on 3 May 1944 in Zwickau. The Encyclopedia of International Film writes: “The film completed in the war year 1944 met with rejection by the Nazi leadership, but then reached the release and found strong response in an exhausted population by the daily routine of the war.” Heinrich Fraenkel, British writer of German origin, noted in his chronicle “Immortal Film”: “It is one of the most beautiful and heartfelt films of the Nazi era.” Above all, this is probably due to the theatrical skills of Hilde Krahl and Mathias Wieman.
