Daniel Gerzenberg is an internationally sought-after song accompanist and poet. Performances in the “Wigmore Hall”, the “Pierre-Boulez Saal Berlin” and at the “Heidelberger Frühling”. The upcoming season leads him to the »Verbier Festival«, to the »Konzerthaus Berlin« and to other recitals to Milan, Lille and Graz. In duo with soprano Sophia Burgos, he is a laureate of the »International Piano Competition Nadia et Lili Boulanger« and of the International Song Competition »Franz Schubert and the Music of Modernity«. In addition, he was awarded the pianist prize at the »Bundeswettbewerb Gesang« as a companion to Theresa Pilsl. For innovation in the field of song, he works in concerts with song improvisations: live settings of poetry, mostly on texts by contemporary poets or by their own works. He collaborates with composer Andrew Haig, who sets his lyrics to music and performs them. Daniel Gerzenberg is a lecturer in the field of poetry at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin. He completed his studies in the song class of Prof. Wolfram Rieger in February 2019.
